The standard model of particle physics, though stupendously - TopicsExpress

The standard model of particle physics, though stupendously successful, doesnt describe all observed particle phenomena - so theorists are trying to extend it. Most extensions entail violating charge-parity symmetry, CP, which, in turn, entails endowing the electron with a dipole moment. A new experiment at CERN has failed to detect a dipole moment. The null result implies that the LHC wont find supersymmetric particles, which are predicted by some standard model extensions.
