The start date for the implementation of the Bibb County School - TopicsExpress

The start date for the implementation of the Bibb County School District’s Performance Learning Center (PLC) at Hutchings College and Career Academy has been delayed. The PLC will open on Monday, October 13, instead of Monday, September 15. The PLC has been developed in partnership with Communities in Schools of Central Georgia to serve as a nontraditional education outlet for high school students who are overage and have fallen off track for graduation. The program is offered to any student who is behind in school due to illness, family or personal issues, employment conflicts, teen parenting, and other nontraditional situations. The anticipated student participation for the first year is about 75 students. The modification to the start date has been made to ensure that staffing for prospective students is adequate; teacher required training is completed; and the student data received from the first marking period accurately assess each student’s PLC course of study. The District apologizes for the delay; however, this additional time will ensure students receive the quality instruction and academic environment needed to be successful.
