The state leadership in Jammu and Kashmir of the PDP is primarily - TopicsExpress

The state leadership in Jammu and Kashmir of the PDP is primarily interested in forming the next government for which they will require the support from the another political party and with the BJP they will enjoy an absolute majority with a sufficient margin of seats in the state legislative assembly. However the BJP view on the issue of Article 370 that they have been claiming to abrogate puts the PDP on a comparatively precarious position for the dilution of Article 370 would mean the diminishing of the special status of the Jammu and Kashmir state. In addition the withdrawal of Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) is off course a political move to satisfy their state voter who are living under duress due to conditions created by the religious fundamentalists and terrorists to counter which the Armed Forces Special Power Act is a necessity. Until and unless the secessionist movement in the state that is purely anti-national against the integrity of India is put an end to the withdrawal of AFSPA shall not be a prudent decision. The PDP is now in a not very comfortable position and an alliance with the BJP perhaps is not the option they ever had anticipated. The electoral result of the elections in Jammu and Kashmir proves the confidence of the people of that state in the democratic system of India and the ballot has ultimately won over the bullet.
