The state of Connecticut has pledged $1.2 million to demolish the abandoned Prospect Street garage in downtown Waterbury. After the demolition and clean-up, city officials are hoping a privately financed and operated parking structure is built on the same site to accommodate an increasing demand on parking during a long revitalization of downtown.
