The state of Montana is considering a proposal to offer wolf stamps for sale to wolf advocates and anyone else that would like to contribute to responsible wolf policies in Montana. Non-consumptive users, as those who dont engage in hunting, trapping, or fishing pursuits are called, have historically lacked a seat at the table when important conservation decisions are made. This stamp could change that but it is vitally important that this program only fund non-lethal wolf-conservation activities. To ensure that, we are asking that the state include language in the final rule that will guarantee that funds raised are spent on these programs and that oversight and reporting be agreed to in advance.
