The story about Nimrods Tower at Babel wasnt really about building a physical structure that will be tall enough to cross the clouds and space to the heavens somewhere where God lives. Thats really absurd. That story is a metaphor, it is about elevating a thing so high that it takes up preeminence in peoples heart over God, it is about people continuously refining an ideology with the intention of getting it to explain everything in life, control everything, and rule the hearts of people like God, it is about gathering people together to a course to which they are lured to pledge their allegiance instead of God, it is about taking away the God ordained strategy for growth and advancement which is leaving the familiar for the unfamiliar, the known for the unknown, the comfort zone for the uncharted territory, todays visible success for a tomorrow pictured in the mind, etc, and God always comes in to check what the sons of men are doing. When He comes, He destroys every such thing.
