The story of Hamid Kehazaei ending up brain-dead at the Mater - TopicsExpress

The story of Hamid Kehazaei ending up brain-dead at the Mater hospital because he wasnt given adequate medical care after he sustained a cut to the leg whilst in detention on Manus Island is just heart-breaking. The Refugee Action Collective Queensland organised a lunchtime vigil yesterday at very short notice. Like me, many of you probably didnt get the chance to attend, but there is another being held on Sunday: 6pm, Sunday 7th September, at King George Square, Brisbane. One of the reasons that I am a Green is that I believe that we need a more compassionate approach as a country as to how we deal with Asylum seekers and I hope that if we as a community can raise awareness about Manus Island, we can end the suffering and get justice for these asylum seekers.
