The story of Paddington ~ Paddington came to the GRCGLA Rescue as an owner turn in when his family felt they werent able to give him the time and attention he wants, needs and deserves. Paddy is a five year old, light blonde guy, weighing in at about 80 pounds. Hes in excellent shape, with bright eyes and healthy teeth. He is what we generally think of when we think of a Golden Retriever; affectionate, sweet, friendly, calm (most of the time, he does have a personality), a velcro dog who will follow his human from room to room, then rest at their feet. He adores people, wagging every time a guest arrives to his foster home, and strangers want to say hi on walks. But he doesnt just like people, he enjoys the company of dogs too. He has become best friends with his three year old foster brother, Cooper, wrestling throughout the day, and even his more mellow senior foster brother, Rusty, finds Paddy pretty okay (Paddy does a good job of giving Rusty his space). We dont think Paddy got a lot of walks in his prior home, so he can be uncertain at times, but pulls at other moments (when hes excited). He loves to walk by the ocean, so the sea air gets him moving. With time and patience (no pushing or pulling him), he will become a more confident walker. He will need a refresher course in loose leash walking, using a no-pull harness (which he has now). Walking with his foster brothers definitely helps his self esteem, so a home with a friendly furry friend would be best. He is doing well with house training, crying to let us know when he needs to go out. He knows sit, down, come and is learning settle and leave it. Paddington has a history with young children, so can be placed with kids. However, we are uncertain about cats and other small critters. He seems interested when he sees them on walks, but we dont know how he would do in a home with feline friends. He could be okay, as long as the humans are willing to do the proper cat/dog acclimation. His favorite things to do are wrestle with his foster brother, chew deer antlers, eat (duh, hes a Golden), and get pets and cuddles. Heres a little video of this love bug. Adoptable through the GRCGLArescue.org. Will go to the very best family possible. https://vimeo/115360103
