The story of the NYPD work slowdown is hilarious. Angered by the Mayor not being a bootlicker in the face of repeated abuse and police issues, and angry at the public for daring to speak out against them over incidents like the murder of Eric Garner, police, behaving like petulant children decided to stage a work slowdown. Officially this is illegal (not that cops typically care about breaking the law For me but not for thee is the motto) -- so to cover themselves legally the police made up the phony story that cops feared for their lives because one madman killed two cops in one of Americas largest cities. The cops were convinced that theyd show us pesky citizens what its like without them to kick around. They honestly are so out of touch that they thought the people would be begging to have them back. Perhaps wed all wear Breathe Easy: Follow the Law shirts which cops seem to so enjoy and wed all come with hat in hand to apologize and beg them to come back to work. Well, a funny thing happened. No one cared. No one missed the cops. No one even noticed. Life went on and the city, even without proper citizen protection rights, was as safe as ever. I shouldnt say no one noticed. The city accountants sure did. Whoa! Muh revenue! The fatcat overlords of the cops roared. We cant have crime decreasing, we need that money for crony jobs and government trips and cars and fat cat contracts for pals....and cops are the vehicles of its delivery. Dutiful order followers whos role is to part the citizens from their cash, make rich people richer by placing people in cages and shore up the finances for an army of bureaucrats. Well, jigs, up the government wants you back. See officers, you are wanted, you really are. breitbart/big-government/2015/01/11/nypd-told-no-more-slow-down-or-else/
