The story was once told of a beggar who had been sitting on the side of a road for many years. One day, a mαη passed by & the beggar shook a cup calling, “Spare me some change.” “I don’t have anything to give u,” the man replied. Feeling dejected by the answer, the beggar turned away mumbling something to himself. The man was getting ready to walk away when he turned around & asked, “By the way, what is that u’re sitting on? “Nothing,” the beggar replied. “ Just an old box that I’ve had for many, many years.” “Interesting,” the man said taking a step closer. “Have u ever thought to open it?” “No. There’s nothing in there,” the beggar said frustratingly. “Well, why don’t u take a look inside,” the man said. The disgruntled old beggar got up off the box & flipped it open. To his own shock & amazement, he saw that the box he had carried with him for many, many years was filled to the brim with gold. That is a story that many of us can relate to. Sometimes we get so caught up ȋ̊η the pursuit of desiring more & more that we fail to see how much we have already.Let it not be too late for us to realise all the real treasures that are with us like our imaan ,our valuable time ,our health, our l♡ved ones & so much more. Let us not be so blinded by this world & the desire for more that we fail to see whats right before our eyes. To find the gold in the box simply means to start being grateful for what we have in our possession here & now. When we take a moment to open our eyes & our hє∂rts to the innumerable joys & blessings that exist all around us, we find unexpected riches & solutions to problems we never knew were available to us. When we release ourselves from the addiction of wanting more, we open up the door for what we need to enter our lives. When we choose to realize what we have, be grateful & say alhamdulilah for it, we will be shocked & surprised, at the treasures & blessings that we are sitting on.
