Khalid Sheik Mohammed won’t let female guards transfer him back and forth from his cell for pre-trial hearings at Guantanamo Bay, claiming it would violate his religious rights since they’d have to make contact with his hands and shoulders to put him in restraints, a new report says. As a result, Mohammed has met with his lawyers only once in the past two months — and even had a hearing delayed Monday, The Daily Beast said. “It’s a violation of his religion,” said Mohammed’s lawyer, David Nevin, noting that his client had been touched only by male guards in the past. The issue has become a problem as the number of female guards has risen. Nearly 30 percent of the detention center’s force soon will be made up of women. Prosecutors and Mohammed’s legal team are trying to hash out a compromise. Yaron Steinbuch
