The strange story in which almost every source is unnamed, but we are asked to believe that there is a firm diplomacy in place and not a clever exercise in tandem. But this bit of the story is most arresting: The Upper House chaos, created by the Opposition after the Ghar Wapsi controversy, led to several crucial bills not getting the parliamentary nod. The government then had to issue a series of ordinances on areas like coal mine auction, insurance FDI and reform of land acquisition norms. So, the chaos was created by the Opposition and the poor Government was forced to bypass the parliamentary debating process and instead issue ordinances. How conveniently that worked out for the government though, to push through the land acquisition process.
