The stream of reports coming out of Seouls Truth and Reconciliation Commission are unsettling not just for Koreans, but also allied countries, including Australia which defended the southern Korean state and supported its successive leaders. Lets not forget to mention THAT culprit. So South Korea, our Democratic Corporatistic brothers in arms, and home of a primary US military and commercial stronghold in East Asia, from which we wage wars of enterprise and eradication alike... For four decades the South Korean [and US] government concealed this massacre. Survivors of this massacre were forbidden by the government from revealing it, under suspicion of being a Communist sympathizer. Public revelation carried with it the threat of torture and death. During the 1990s, several corpses were excavated from mass graves, resulting in public awareness of the massacre. The massacre was wrongly blamed on the communists.
