The strongest characteristic that can re-establish the Village mentality in our community is Love. Thats why the Bible talks about love so much. That is the bind that suppose to tie us together but it is slowly disintegrating in our community and nation. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustices but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance ( I Corinthians 13:4-7). With all the race-based situations are country is enduring right now it is because we truly dont love each other. If we truly loved each other we would be more forgiving, have patience, show more kindness, have the zeal to love the truth, love for justice and love for each person no matter what their race may be. My parents always talked about loving the unlovable. What does that mean? You take the person for who they are and dont let their physical characteristics, mental state etc. be a hinder to you loving them.
