The struggle is now between the Western liberal globalist ideologies and the Russian and Chinese multi-polar world / anti-liberal ideologies. Syria is now the focal point of this struggle. I predict western liberalism will be on the losing side and it will be the forum of finance where the battle will be lost by western liberalism. As the financial system breaks, All of our lives are going to become harder and harder. The system of knowledge that we have has a number of faults in it that society has failed to recognised. Unless these egalitarian faults are recognised they will bring about this collapse. Part of the problem is a rampant individualism. As the problems become more profound, this individualism means that people will look less outwards towards the nation, the world, the set of assumptions and isolate themselves even more. They will become even stronger in their belief of the current system and talk in the terms of the ideology an carry Auschwitz books around as their Bibles to ward of any challenges to their secular style religion. The will refuse any suggestion that the paradigm is wrong partly because they will have to many of their own problems to deal with to have time to think about it. As the decline comes about, so will the strengthening of the incorrect paradigm and the tolerance of dissenters to the paradigm will decrease.
