The students and staff of Clover Park High School invite service members, their families and friends to join staff and students honoring our nations fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines Thursday, May 22 at 5:30 p.m. for a Memorial Day observance. Each year, Clover Park students recreate a portion of Arlington National Cemetery on the schools lawn, with markers representing each service member who lost his or her life while serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. This years “The Arlington Project” exhibition includes: • A viewing of HBO’s “Taking Chance;” • JROTC retreat ceremony and recreation of tomb guard at Arlington National Cemetery; • Student-created memorial displays of America’s conflicts; • More than 6,600 individually named markers honoring the fallen warriors for the Arlington Project; and • A “Wall of Remembrance.” To RSVP, contact David Russell at 253-583-6574 or [email protected]) by May 16, 2014.
