The students renting the house next door to us (neighbors would imply more of a relationship than we have) have a pet pig. We learned this tonight when the pig appeared in our driveway and scared Shannon into the house, which resulted in Frida the Wonderhound escaping to chase the intruder, with me in hot pursuit, cursing and making inappropriate remarks about bacon. Fortunately we retrieved our hound and neither she nor the pig were injured. Only 10 more years until retirement--if I make it--and then we can start looking for neighbors who dont keep livestock as pets!
