The subject of depression is a very deep topic for me because Ive had (or have) ppl extremely close to my heart suffer with this to the point of death. Not that they killed themselves, but they coped with this illness in a way that was more detrimental than beneficial, which in turn led to their demise. This is a very dark disease. There is absolutely no light, hope, or happiness in depression. It is a demon that tells you that you are a burden and that you will help your loved ones more if you were just never here. It tells you to stay in bed all day or skip a few meals (even though youve skipped a week of eating). It tells you that the reason why youve been let down so much in life, is because YOURE the problem. This demon will see nothing but rain on the clearest, brightest day. Although it is a mental illness, it attacks your heart first. Your heart has to be crushed, broken, and darkened. Once that happens, it gets to your brain. With the brain being the only logical organ in your body, youll develop guilt about being depressed. If you are blessed more than others youll feel guilty about having the nerve to be depressed. That guilt puts you into a deeper state of depression. Guard your heart from things in life that you can control. If you cant control situations in life that ultimately lead to depression, seek professional help. Praying is always nice, but God blesses ppl around you who have the ability to heal for a reason. Easier said than done, but still food for thought
