The summer has been a busy one. I have completed my in-service police training hours for the year. Needed 24. Have 56+ hours recorded.. Also this has been my year for re certification as a police instructor. This too has been completed on August 27th. Good for another three years. I have been training others as well. One class at the Academy and several sessions with Salem PD Just before Salem Schools started, I worked with Officers Ronnie Mays and Tim Miller, of the Salem PD, to deliver a ladies self defense class. Fees charged for the class were used as a fund raiser for the Lady Lions Soccer Team. Proceeds help off set the cost in purchasing needed clothing items for the girls. It is but one example of the programs I hope to bring to the county if elected as sheriff. It was a great collaboration of the School, Angie Motsinger, Soccer parent, Parent Booster Club, Salem police Department and myself. Several benefited from this. Thank you: Angie Motsinger, Hank Weedin, Athletic Director, Dr. Lynn Reed, Superintendent and Dan Tally. Thanks to Troy Merry, Chief of Salem PD. And Officers Ron Mays and Tim Miller Now supporters it is time to place your Overshiner for Sheriff yard signs out. And you will see me out doing the same during this next couple weeks.
