The sun is always shining and when we withdraw ourselves from the shadows of our unbelief, we shall find that the days of our mourning will be ended. Mourning suggests that something has been lost. We are sad because we have lost a loved one; we have lost our health, our fortune or something else that we hold dear. Isaiah suggests that our days of mourning will cease when we view the universe as it really is. Wilt thou be made whole? asked the great teacher. Standing in the midst of the multitude, he proclaimed that the kingdom of God is at hand. Perhaps there is not so great a gulf between heaven and earth as we have believed. Are we taking time daily to permit the sunshine of truth to penetrate the dark chambers of our mind? Wilt thou be made whole? is a suggestion to open the windows of our mind, to lift up the gates of our consciousness, that the eternal flow of light may find entrance. Holmes, Ernest (2007-12-27).
