Adapting the Woolstore for public use would contribute significantly to the cohesiveness of the Northbank masterplan, complimenting both the Silos development and recreation spaces. In its position of immediate proximity to the city centre, the Woolstore offers great potential as a large venue attracting visiting groups. As stated by event professionals such as Richard Matson (Matson Catering) and Gabbi Murrell (Event Avenue), the city and Northern Tasmania requires this capacity. The woolstore satisfies the criteria of appeal, that of feasibility should certainly be investigated. Again we respectfully encourage the community to directly email or FB the Mayor and Aldermen expressing your concerns as a matter of urgency. Mondays council meeting will decide whether this amazing city asset is bulldozed immediately or retained and properly assessed for its adaptive re-use potential.
