The surgery that was supposed to happen last week finally took - TopicsExpress

The surgery that was supposed to happen last week finally took place yesterday. Everything went well. I am now the proud owner of a tissue expanding implant in my right arm! Woo hoo! I also have a little less metal in my body, as the plate that was holding my thumb in place was removed yesterday, too. In with one device and out with another...they tell me this is progress! Im doing pretty good this morning, but I know from past experience that typically, the second day after surgery is a little worse than the first, and day three is not any better! Thats why I thought Id give an update today. I havent actually seen my arm yet. It is all wrapped up in big bandages. I tried to take a picture of it, but Im afraid my coordination level has regresses back to where it was about 4 months ago! It is pretty heavy...Im assuming that is due to the 100ccs of saline he injected during surgery...and Im afraid its only going to get heavier! Fortunately, the painkillers are doing their job, so except for being extremely tired, Im not feeling too bad. Thanks again for the love and support all of you have provided throughout this process. We are far from finished (8 surgeries down with 5~6 more to go), but things are going well and the miracles of this recovery just keep piling up! I know God has been watching out for me and my family largely due to the prayers of so many of you!
