The suspicious, prideful and even envious person will see things that are not there in other people. These suspicious people have created a filter through which they see all of life. Everything must pass through this filter before it will be considered by the mind. The suspicious person will see an innocent wave by someone they have previously pre-judged, put it through the judgmental-filter and then rejects its innocence and goodness and stamp it with suspicion and other negative feelings. The suspicious person will see a smile and think that something dishonest is behind that smile. The suspicious person will see a friendly gesture from a certain person that they have prejudged as someone not to trust, and then see the friendliness as an evil deed of some tricky sort. The filter that they see through was made previous from events and people in that persons life. The filter is a truth for such people. The important thing to know is that the filter is false and holds no truth, or very little truth most of the time. Some people are suspicious of anything that they cannot understand, or they dont like, or refuse to understand, or what they consider as competition. Many people judge life and people with filters that have no truth or not much truth in them. People who are prejudice have a prejudiced filter that sees and judges people by their colour (or whatever) before it reaches their brain. What this means is that before the event, information, arguments, etc reaches this persons mind the filter has already stamped this material as something to be suspicious of, something to distrust, something of a threat etc. The content, the quality, the truth is beside the point, the information received will still be heavily judged by this filter and then discarded. This is why we cannot reach some people, we think of them like a brick wall, or impossible to deal with or hard to get through to. For example on a particular subject they see you coming, they know that you are going to defend this subject and immediately before they have even heard a word from you they have confirmed in their mind that everything that comes from your mouth will be heavily judged by that ever so stubborn filter and they have confirmed in their own mind that you have lost before you even started. That is why you cant reach some people with simple common-sense. It is rejected before it even reaches their eyes or ears. These people restrict our lives, drain our energy and hope with each new argument, and they take away our happiness. The filter keeps them blind and nothing you do will change that persons mind. We need to live with that, know that we have done our best and move on. Otherwise we will continue to stay miserable with such people. They have their own life to live, their own things to deal with. Most of what they need to discover and deal with is none of our business, even if it is family. They have their own spiritual journey in life to live, their own lessons and trials. Please be wise and continue with your own blessed journey, leaving others to deal with theirs. It is not turning your back on such people, or even letting them down. What it is, is respecting your own self and seeing that your life is more precious elsewhere. We all have our own journeys, and we all learn with different experiences and at different speeds.
