The tallest sand dune is 750 feet.... Pat & I climbed up the 680 foot one switch backing along the curves of each for about 1 hour... the ranger told us some camp on top of the sand dunes tossing glow sticks back & forth in the open vastness.. I have to imagine watching the stars at night from that vantage point must be breath taken as long as no thunderstorms hit which in the high elevations & mountains was a normal late afternoon occurrence..
