The tapestry weaving on my timeline, created long ago, is an illumination from the title page of the First Discourse of the Bhagavad Gita, The Yoga of the Despondency of Arjuna. Amma tells us we must fail again and again, as Arjuna did in his effort and use of personal will to prevent the Maha Bharata war. Then, in the face of imminent battle, once he sees he has no power on his own, he lets go of his ego (casts off his bow and arrows ). In this surrendered state of consciousness Arjuna is fully open to listen to God. Arjuna kneels down in his chariot and asks Krishna to tell him what to do now, now that he has failed for the final time. With Ammas Grace, Amma tells us we can be like Arjuna, we can surrender and listen with hearts fully open. I pray for this kind of surrender.
