"The taste of light bitter, a little sour in your tongue, combined with the warm scent filled your nose that can be brought only by a cup of café. To Vietnamese people, it’s more about of “Vietnam’s café culture”, than simply just a beverage. Different from Western, as they make it fast, Vietnamese people choose to brew their own coffee freshly and patiently right at the table, through a little metal cup, perched on top. Waiting for it dripping through down to the glass, it’s considered as a pleasure to wait ‘till it done to have a strong, fresh cup of coffee. It takes time to make it done, but totally worth to try even just once. The moment you sip your own coffee and feel the warm inside, while being surrounded by the strong scent that awakes your senses in an early morning is an absolute pleasure. Coffee has formed a culture, as it plays an important part in daily activity of people’s life. It’s one of the things you must experience when visiting Vietnam. There’s a difference between how the old generation and the youth enjoy coffee. To the old generation, coffee to them is simply a corner with short stools to sit around and have conversation about their lives or politics in early morning, while Vietnamese youth likely to enjoy coffee in a big coffee shop that has live music and so. Wandering around the corners, or walk down to the streets to feel the fresh and the energy radiating in the air. Beyond all, is to live in the spirit of Vietnam’s coffee culture which we are Vietnamese all proud of.
