The team from Mississippi has gone, but they left behind a greatly beautified chapel and entryway. They even did some trimming of some vines behind the church and an overgrown shrub. This was one of the finest groups of young people I have ever seen. I was impressed by their attitude and work ethic. Usually, among youth, there are those moments of tension and teen-attitude. We saw not one ounce of bad attitude at any point. Further, they showed extreme respect to everyone around them. They were truly glad to have an opportunity to come and work. And work is exactly what they did. Every single teenager pitched in and worked pretty much the entire time they were here. They did what they were asked and if they were not busy they sought me out and asked if there was something that they could do that would help the church. As the project neared its end, a group of them went out into our community and passed out flyers and invited folks to church. At lunch, their leaders would ask them to share their testimonies of how they came to Christ. They gathered for prayer every morning when they arrived before starting work. They were absolutely a joy to watch. I hope that the day will come when we can send a team to another church to assist them with a project. Thats what I call HEALTHY CHURCH WORK-- meeting needs.
