The technique of Framing is used to help align a listener’s - TopicsExpress

The technique of Framing is used to help align a listener’s opposing point of view with the speaker’s point of view. The key is to use the listeners own beliefs and values to positively Frame your topic so they can see the value of your topic. A great example would be helping your daughter define her perfect boyfriend so she can finally see she is dating a total schmuck. By having her define the perfect boyfriend you will have helped her to see the topic clearly using her own beliefs and values. I recently saw a speaker use Framing the wrong way. Instead of helping the listener to see the topic clearly through their own beliefs/values this speaker chose to Frame the topic through disparaging comments, undermining credibility and artificially elevating the value of their own position. This is an overt example of Framing through manipulation and false context.
