The telephone was invented in 1876 by Alexander Graham Bell however it was 39 years later that the park had its first telephone installed in the refreshment rooms in 1915, that same year A.g Bell made the first transcontinental phone call. In 1927 the first wireless system was unveiled between London and New York but it was not until 1973 that mobile telephone technology was developed with the public waiting until 1983 for it to become commercially available. Today communication technology is moving at an exhilarating pace and the park is not being left behind with a plan to offer free wifi at certain times during the day.
