The tepid rhetoric relied on by both Democrats and Republicans to discredit each other is transparently silly. I cant tell you how many times Ive heard Obama referred to as Satan by the right; this coming from the same people who supported George Bush is just downright laughable; Obama has maintained and expanded the same policies that Bush was chastised for. Liberals wont attack their hailed leader for doing the same thing they attacked Bush over, however, for that isnt allowed in the game of left-right insanity. If the tables were turned and Obama was a Republican, Liberals would not only be opposed to him, they would be thoughtlessly reverberating the same statements flowing from the right. If Obama was a Republican, not a single Republican would be criticizing anything hes done or said. When you account for this, you understand it becomes nothing short of madness to support such a hypocritical charade. If you cant apply your principles universally, you clearly dont take moral ethics seriously, and for this fact you have no right to command respect or credibility in philosophical/political discourse.
