The term guilty pleasure is completely idiotic. What good is - TopicsExpress

The term guilty pleasure is completely idiotic. What good is pleasure if you have to feel guilty about it? Moms, this is a really hot topic for you, especially! I have put off getting a massage for awhile because I always feel like I have so many other things I need to do to stay productive. Yesterday, I finally forced myself to have one and when the therapist asked when the last time I had one was, I came to realize it had been a full year! And this is coming from someone who had one every week. As I lay there, I was in utter joy and bliss. The idea of it, booking the appointment, the elevator ride to the spa, and laying on the warm table all excited me as much as the massage itself. I realized that in our humanness we get so busy filling our days with so much of what we feel we have to do that we forget to do what we love to do. In our business in the Evolved Economy, we ask people all the time, what excites you? Sadly, the majority of people give very bland answers or none at all because they forget what the feeling of excitement, joy, and self-love is. So, today I want you to be reminded that your ability to do for yourself and love yourself is as equally important as doing and loving others. Yesterday in my 80 minutes of self-indulgence, I expanded the capacity to love my family, be more productive and had zero resentment over anything I had to do. So love yourself and stop feeling guilty about it.
