The term jars of clay took on new meaning for me when my pastor showed my hubby and I a little art project one of his kids made for him a long time ago; a rough, crooked, clumsy little rock with glitter randomly sprinkled on it... and he said it was one of the most beautiful things hed ever seen. Since I know EXACTLY what He means - Ive absolutely CHERISHED some *serious* messes that my kids called art and were incredibly proud of - it really hit Jesse and I both when he said that thats how God sees US. We hand Him these twisted up, pathetic, poorly executed good works that we did with so much misunderstanding & struggle.... and theyre the most BEATIFUL things our heavenly Father has ever seen. He CHERISHES them. It BLESSES His heart that we tried so hard.. for Him. He doesnt care about the results; He cares about the heart. Keep your heart focused on Him. Keep running towards Him. Keep making strugglish, crooked jars of clay for Him with all your heart, and you literally cant go wrong if youve invited Him into your heart. Cause your His sweet lil kiddo and He CHERISHES His kiddos messy little jars of clay.
