The territory of Morocco has been inhabited since Neolithic times, - TopicsExpress

The territory of Morocco has been inhabited since Neolithic times, at least since 8000. BC, as attested by signs of Capsian culture, at a time when the Maghreb was less arid than it is today. Many theorists believe that the Berber language appeared while agriculture, and was adopted by the existing population and the immigrants that brought. Modern analysis confirmed that several of these people have contributed genetically to the current population, including, in addition to the main ethnic groups-ie Berber and Arab-Phoenicians, Sephardic Jews and sub-Saharan Africans. In the classical period, Morocco was known as Mauretania, not to be confused with the modern country of Mauritania.
