The theme for 2014 INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES is SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: THE PROMISE OF TECHNOLOGY. On the 3rd of December, activities for persons with disabilities should focus on three suggested sub-themes : 1. Disaster Risk and Reduction and Emergency Response; 2. Creating an Enabling Work Environment; 3. Disability Inclusive Sustainable Development Goals All national government agencies are encouraged to support activities of persons with disabilities in line with this observance. NCDA has created a National Working COmmittee to spearhead national activities. Major activities to be held on December 3, includes the following; a. National Championship round of KAKAYAHAN 2014 SKILLS COMPETITION- REGIONAL WINNERS WILL COMPETE with their respective events at the SM Fairview, Quezon City from 8am- 4pm. Open to all who wish to watch the competition. NO FREE FOOD. b. JUST 1 JOB FAIR - organized by BBMC in partnership with the IDPWD Working Committee and the US Assistance for International Development. One thousand persons with disabilities are invited to attend to be held at St. Paul University Gymn, Gilmore Avenue, cor. Aurora Blvd, Quezon City. Training, Scholarships and Assistance to Entrepreneural Projects are also available during the Fair.
