The themes of the Upper Limb Test next week are the following: - the joints of the vertebral column, the joints of the thoracic cage, the joints of the upper limb: type, location and articular surfaces. Please note that for the shoulder, elbow and wrist joints you need to know also: ligaments, movements, innervation, blood supply. - the muscles of the back (first three layers), chest and upper limb: location, attachments, relations, innervation, action. Please note that for the deep muscles of the back (i.e. 3rd layer muscles) and the muscles of the hand you do not need to know attachments; only location, relations, innervation, action are required. - special fascial structures of the upper limb: the flexor retinaculum and the extensor retinaculum. - the arteries of the upper limb: axillary, brachial, ulnar, radial: location, course, origin and termination, branches, relations, territory of supply. - the superficial veins (basilic and cephalic) and deep veins (axillary, brachial, ulnar, radial) of the upper limb: location, origin and termination, tributaries, territory of drainage (deep veins correspond completely to arteries). - the brachial plexus of nerves: location, origins, all the branches (like in the drawing i did for you). - the terminal branches of the brachial plexus: type (sensory/notor/mixed), origin, course, branches, relations, territory of supply, injury. - the breast/mammary gland: limits, external features, internal structure, blood supply, innervation and lymph drainage.
