The thing is...despite all our divides, disdain for polar vortexes, extended crazy climate tricks, we end up with a night of severe clear, where the universe opens up to us in southern skies, where binoculars in a sleeping bag covered hammock delivers profound sights into the night skies, the gorgeous silence of snow covered landscapes and great horned owls calling love songs, and the mysterious universe unfolding above us if we dress right and stay with it. I just had one of those moments I forgot to celebrate so long ago. I believe it to be healing for all of us to know we live on such a fragile, finite, and blessed rock in the otherwise cold, unforgiving universe, to appreciate one another and every living thing that also live on this ark.
