The third Australian Government-funded Technical and Vocational - TopicsExpress

The third Australian Government-funded Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) centre was officially opened yesterday in Sola, Vanua Lava, TORBA. A high-level delegation led by Bob Loughman, Vanuatu’s Minister of Education, and Jeremy Bruer, Australian High Commissioner, attended the ceremony. Supported by the Australian-Government-funded TVET Sector Strengthening Program, the centre will help the people of Vanuatu to participate effectively in Vanuatu’s economy through targeted demand-driven training. Mr Loughman thanked the Australian Government for its support and emphasised the opportunities the new centre in TORBA would bring to northern Vanuatu, particularly the economic empowerment of women and people living with disabilities. Australia has funded two other centres in SANMA and MALAMPA, which have been operating successfully. The Vanuatu Government has reaffirmed its support for the TVET Program by announcing funding for three staff for the SANMA, MALAMPA and TORBA centres.
