The tide has turned. The newts are on the run. Last night only four managed to breach the new defences, and they were quickly captured and evicted. As they are adept at scaling walls and squeezing through the tiniest cracks, the new defence system consisted of bin bags jammed into every crevice and the doors jammed shut. The unanswered question is why they seem to think our house is a suitable place for hibernation.
