The time has come for medical Cannabis bills to start appearing on the ballots of Southern States. The fear I have is that they will be so limiting in scope. Two years ago the prevailing sentiment was: Well, we are OK with medicinal Cannabis, so long as kids dont have any access to it Now it is, We only want medical Cannabis to help children who suffer from seizures This is directly attributable to Sanjay Guptas special and the attention he paid to Charlotte Figi. People, this is not just about dravet syndrome or child onset epilepsy. There are lots of ailments that Cannabis has been shown to be effective. How can we make the medicine available to some to the detriment of others. This is not right. You dont only allow Tylenol to only be used to treat migraines. Why? Because it works for many ailments. Please, if you are going to introduce a bill in any state, take it in to consideration that you have to keep the language open ended enough to allow for access to all patients who need Cannabis. It is hard to get these laws passed, not to mention expensive. If the effort is to be put forward, then make it count. Having a restrictive law that only helps a tiny portion of the population is good, but not nearly as good as a law that can help everyone.
