The time it took me to get over the shock of my rat, Sophie, passing so suddenly was the same amount of time it took my other rat, Daily Alice, to realize that her friend isnt coming back. She has been moody-- yesterday she threw her poop at me for the first time-- and clingy. Tonight she shattered all her records for the longest time sitting still in my lap while I pet her. Sophie was always the outgoing one of the two. Alice would only come out and play once Sophie had checked out the scene and made sure it was safe. If given the run of a room, Sophie would hang out near me while Alice would seek out new hiding places. I expected that losing Sophie might bring Alice out of her shell, but Im surprised how quickly its happening.
