The timing of Obamas visit can yet be beneficial to the Aquino regime in light of fresh corruption allegations affecting the administration. Aquino will use the visit to get the US seal of good housekeeping, an affirmation of the daang matuwid before the international community. Aquino would want to Photoshop away the giant corruption stain now covering his admin because of the pork barrel scam. Ironically, both Obama and Aquino promised change to their respective constituencies during their elections but both ended up perpetuating the policies they were supposedly against. Also, Malacanang is afraid that releasing the Napoles list now would cause a major international embarrassment for the Aquino govt aside from the domestic outrage it will surely cause.
