The title is a misnomer. No one believes that every person, who identifies as Christian, hates or opposes the LGBT community. There are, however, those who shield themselves behind it and claim to represent the faith to and for everyone. Regardless of recent court victories, there remains a long way to go. There will be the inevitable attempt to repeal, remove, and limit the scope of those victories. Many of these rulings remain to complete the court process and be implemented. There is no way to predict how those cases will be ruled on. Either way, whether the atmosphere is friendly or hostile, in government, the fight will continue. The bigger fight will be in society. Hate and intolerance that have been taught and passed down for centuries does not simply disappear. As in the case of DADT. A law intended to create progress merely provided a new method of discrimination that ruined at least 14,000 lives and careers. Other countries have their own history and culture and will not necessarily follow our path. I do feel most of them will enact, if not embrace, LGBT equality. For some, that will take a long time. The hate is too deeply embedded. There are people who are tired of hearing about this fight. They are lucky. They dont have to fight it or wonder what would happen to them or their loved ones if they lose.
