The tomatoes are splitting (at least some are) probably due to the rain. I have kept them watered trying to avoid it but I suppose the humidity and rain and heat all are affecting them. There is also a critter taking bites out here and there. I am beginning to think more a mouse because most that have been bit are on the ground and under branches. The beefsteak tomatoes are huge but I i am sold now on heirlooms. The flavor is so much better and I especially like the black tomatoes. The Black Krim is my fav, its made a lot of tomatoes and all tasty. Cherokee Purple comes in 2nd. Its the dog days of summer. The garden looks it, it feels like it. Even though its hot I am thinking early fall.
