The toothpaste tube is perfectly designed. As the toothpaste runs - TopicsExpress

The toothpaste tube is perfectly designed. As the toothpaste runs out it gets harder and harder to get enough toothpaste to brush your teeth. This effort sticks in your mind and eventually it gets so difficult that it is less effort to buy new toothpaste. By design it is sending continuous data to you about the need for more toothpaste and this noxious signal gets proportionally louder with the level of need of a new toothpaste tube. The rubbish bin bag is terribly designed. The rubbish bag gets fuller without any noxious signal and as it gets full the difficulty in replacing the bin bag increases. So at no point is it more effort to put something in the bin than it is to replace the bin bag. It is the opposite of the toothpaste tube, the gap between the effort required to put something in the bin (or gently placing rubbish on top of the ever growing pile of rubbish) instead of replacing the bin bag only increases as the bag gets fuller. This needs to be remedied.
