The top figure shows the WPC snowfall prediction for the continental U.S. for the weekend into next Monday. A band of snow is expected to spread across the central Plains, the Midwest, Great Lakes, followed by northern Maine as a low pressure center tracks just to the south and east. Meanwhile, another low will move in from off the west coast of Canada into the Pacific Northwest as arctic air begins to push south into the western U.S. Snow is expected to spread south and east into the Intermountain West and northern and central Rockies through the weekend.
