The top of my right foot started hurting around mile 30 something - TopicsExpress

The top of my right foot started hurting around mile 30 something during the Burning River 100 over the past weekend...I ended up missing a cut off at mile 66-67, pain only got worse. Anyone experienced this before? It was my first 100 (attempt), not sure if I should be really worried or just see if the swelling goes down after a few days of ice/compression. Ive been icing it off and on all day and hopped in an ice bath after race and the following morning. I can walk on it without too much pain, its definitely uncomfortable but not to the point where I cant do day to day things around the house. I dont feel up to a run or anything like that but can get around on it. No bruising, just swollen. What causes this? Tight laces or shoes? Maybe go a half size up for longer distance due to swelling? To compare I added a photo of feet night before race (taped)
