The topography and geology maps show a very interesting development of Sedona and Flagstaff regions. The oldest rock formations come from the “lower Permian” era. The rock formations showed supai formations within these rock formations. The rocks present show traces of siltstone, clayey and sand grains within the rocks composition. The next layer of rock formations are from the middle Jurassic era of our timeline. This era consisted of Entranda rock formations. This area consisted of mostly of sandstone. Quartz was apparent upon reviewing the topography and geology maps of northern Arizona. In this area lies a fault that cuts through layers of stone. The land folds from the fault. This produces the same angel at the fault line. There is also a dike that cuts through the oldest layers of materials. We now enter the middle Jurassic era. Here we have a cow spring rock formations. These formations consisted mostly of sandstone. We now enter into the upper Jurassic era of our timeline. Here we have the Morrison formation shown on the topography map. Here we have mostly sandstone present during this era. Next we enter the olegaseve period. We have a minette rock formation that has developed. Here we have traces of Phlag within the rocks. The last period is the Holocene era. This era consisted of divine rock deposits. This area consisted of sand. The layer orientation was gently dipping units(less than 20 percent) per its dip (Johnson, 2011, p.164). The folds and cleavage consisted of complex folds (Johnson, 2011, P.164). The faults and joints consisted of reverse or thrust faults (Johnson, P.164). Other geological features present were small rivers and streams (Johnson, P.164). The energy resources consisted of oil/gas well, coal deposits and a hydroelectric dam. The nonmetallic resources consist of mostly sand and gravel pits. The cross section of the map shows how the land uplifted and pulled toward the right of the map. There was a recapture member present on the surface of the map. I am amazed at the complex structure of the rock formations in Flagstaff and Sedona. The area suggests severe conditions with sediments within Sedona. Kevin
