The torments of an anti-woo-ster: When one is staunchly - TopicsExpress

The torments of an anti-woo-ster: When one is staunchly anti-woo and anti-quackery, yet not an expert in the filed, and not willing to check out facts for oneself, it is hard to decide who is the final authority in medicine. I mean, shall the staunch anti-woo-ster trust the pronunciations of The Doctors® (as often represented by the AMA and various business interests) or The Scientists® (as often represented by the FDA, CDC and powerful business interests)? It is a perilous world out there when one thinks that one knows enough to select ones experts from a single camp (a single source of education, a single therapeutic philosophy, a uniform set of biases, a single business model), but not enough to validate what these experts are telling one to do. Tough questions. It is hard to carry the banner against quackery without knowing anything, and without wanting to know. https://facebook/robert.tracinski/posts/10152756671501202
