The traditional Cuban Son during the golden era of Cuban music, which slipped away -should I say was taken away- from the Cubans and re-baptized, de-constructed? as Mambo during the Palladium era, Salsa on 2 in contemporary New York fast pace and also Rhumba (with an h!). in the ballroom jargon... So much contribution from people whose face has also magically slipped away in the ripples of time and collective memory. I can still remember my first encounter with dance when watching my parents dance Son elegantly and rhythm-full in our living room...
