The tragedy of Iraq was on the news again today Oh Boy! And so it happened again...My social anxiety got the better of me. I was standing in a Chinese fish n chips shop waiting on an order and a convenient plasma in the corner was was bleeding imagery onto the marbled floor, imagery with violently enraged extremists waving sophisticated American weaponry and driving American military machines...there was blood on the shattered concrete, and scattered shreds of real human beings, back dropped by an absolutely devastated, uninhabitable mound of bombed buildings and shops. There was not a single pane of glass left in any building on screen. Thousands of shattered buildings and shattered lives. The sheer misery of those left standing, their eyes smeared with tears and caked with dust, their hands blood-stained from picking among the scattered remnants of their loved ones lost lives was simply heart-rending... This is the legacy of the West in the Middle-East, and we here in Australia are complicit in this genocide. Our corporate Media celebrates these crimes. We have rooted and cheered for these crimes on the Media for how many years now?...and then in the next breath, we were told about Obamas latest gift of $500,000,000 to aid the extremists who are shelling and murdering people in Syria... Couldnt he have better sent that money to those in Detroit who are as of this week, having their water shut off, they are now literally without water in parts of America, in fact in Detroit City! The once proud home and capital of the fossil-fueled automobile. Capitalism has failed society and its structural violence has now reduced parts of America to the same extremes as those African refugees living in tent cities due to lack of water. The extremists the West are supporting in Syria, are the same extremists which we here in the so-called civilized West, are meant to be fighting in a global war on terrorism! What sheer, hypocritical Madness!!! What monstrously, barbaric and pathological behavior! Sigh...and so I lost it again in a Shop... and spilled my rage against the machine, and the corruption of Money onto the cold marbled floor of the shop, where it merged with the blood leaking out of the plasma, and to the disdain and irritation of those committed shoppers and Westerners all around me.
